You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Cowboys did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high.

The Cowboys indulged a want in Isaac while a need in quarterback and tight end stayed open. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
