Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA- FutureA
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Cowboys a B+.

There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Cowboys started one anyway for Barryn Sorrell, 125 picks ahead of schedule. No fireworks, but a solid B+.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Majors. The tight end hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Elijah Moore deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick33 Rnd2 Kenneth Grant
Kenneth Grant is a better player than the 33rd pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick44 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
Circle this one: Nick Emmanwori at slot 44 is a fall that decides a draft. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick67 Rnd3 Jayden Higgins
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jayden Higgins. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick76 Rnd3 Devin Neal
Devin Neal at the Round 3 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
Pick150 Rnd5 Jake Majors
A offensive lineman of that caliber at pick 150 is the definition of value, full stop. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick170 Rnd5 Ajani Cornelius
Ajani Cornelius at No. 170 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick172 Rnd5 Kurtis Rourke
Kurtis Rourke in pick No. 172 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The roster fit checks out.
Pick174 Rnd5 Cobee Bryant
They paid sticker price for Cobee Bryant in the 174th overall pick, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick190 Rnd6 Barryn Sorrell
A wild overpay on Barryn Sorrell in the 190th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick211 Rnd6 Jack Kiser
Nice patience on Jack Kiser, who had no business lasting to No. 211. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick249 Rnd7 Clay Webb
A clean, defensible pick in pick 249 with a little surplus value in Clay Webb. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
