Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureB
A franchise passer in Daniels headlines a B+ weekend for the Bears.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Bears spent their marquee pick on Jayden Daniels, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. No fireworks, but a solid B+.

Reaching for Keegan left real value on the table behind him. The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend.

That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Bears paired the rookies with proven help, George Pickens leading the way.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Jayden Daniels
In slot 4 they get a franchise quarterback at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick9 Rnd1 Jared Verse
In pick No. 9 they get a double-digit-sack hope. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick35 Rnd2 Tyler Nubin
Tyler Nubin at Round 2, Pick 3 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick75 Rnd3 Sedrick Van Pran
Sedrick Van Pran at the 75th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick111 Rnd4 McKinnley Jackson
McKinnley Jackson in the 111th pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick123 Rnd4 Trevor Keegan
They talked themselves into Trevor Keegan at the Round 4 slot, and the board did not agree. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick143 Rnd5 Tykee Smith
By-the-book stuff, Tykee Smith at No. 143 squarely in line with his ranking. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
