Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall D-
ValueC NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Seahawks finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a D-.

If confidence were a draft strategy, the Seahawks would have aced it. Nazir Stackhouse at the Round 4 slot is 79 spots clear of where he belonged. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.

The Mullings value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Jaxson Dart is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose.

The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and edge rusher is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Jaxson Dart
In the 18th pick they get a franchise quarterback, though the board says they badly overpaid.
Pick33 Rnd2 Tyler Booker
Tyler Booker in slot 33 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick40 Rnd2 Aireontae Ersery
They paid sticker price for Aireontae Ersery in the 40th overall pick, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick71 Rnd3 Tre Harris
Tre Harris in Round 3, Pick 7 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick93 Rnd3 Jack Bech
Steal is underselling it; Jack Bech at the Round 3 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick103 Rnd4 Jake Majors
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jake Majors. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick120 Rnd4 Nazir Stackhouse
Nazir Stackhouse in No. 120 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick158 Rnd5 Oronde Gadsden II
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Oronde Gadsden II in the 158th pick. The roster fit checks out.
Pick173 Rnd5 Quinshon Judkins
They will replay Quinshon Judkins at pick No. 173 for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick187 Rnd6 Quincy Riley
Quincy Riley in the Round 6 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick212 Rnd6 Smael Mondon Jr.
Taking Smael Mondon Jr. in slot 212 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick236 Rnd7 Kalel Mullings
Kalel Mullings at Round 7, Pick 18 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
