The Browns spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Carson Schwesinger, the No. 87 name on the board, in No. 202. The final tally is a middling C+.

The Howard pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. With edge rusher, wide receiver and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on linebacker is the choice that costs them.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

So much rides on Josh Simmons that the real verdict is a season or two away.
