The Browns did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B+. You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Browns did exactly that with Tyler Batty in the 177th overall pick. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.
The Ransom pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want. The Jonathan Taylor pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
The trade work was a quiet net positive.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.
