Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesA- FutureB-
The Raiders kept it disciplined and banked a B.

Priorities are a choice, and the Raiders made a strange one, taking Renardo Green at safety in pick No. 89 with quarterback, tight end and other spots crying out for the pick instead.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Lassiter.

They will need Bishop to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick51 Rnd2 Xavier Legette
Xavier Legette is a better player than Round 2, Pick 19 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick57 Rnd2 Kamari Lassiter
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Kamari Lassiter in the 57th pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick58 Rnd2 Cooper Beebe
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Cooper Beebe at pick No. 58. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick59 Rnd2 T.J. Tampa
Value with a capital V on T.J. Tampa in the Round 2 slot, a genuine coup. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick77 Rnd3 Jaylen Wright
A clean, defensible pick in pick 77 with a little surplus value in Jaylen Wright. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick86 Rnd3 Dominick Puni
Dominick Puni at No. 86 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick88 Rnd3 Cole Bishop
A premium they did not need to pay, Cole Bishop a notch or two before his time. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick89 Rnd3 Renardo Green
A surprising call. With quarterback, tight end and other spots still to address, they spent Round 3, Pick 26 on Renardo Green, a safety they were not short of.
Pick91 Rnd3 Braelon Allen
Braelon Allen in the 91st overall pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick92 Rnd3 Jonah Elliss
They did well to land Jonah Elliss in slot 92, just ahead of his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
