When a board-topper like Tyrice Knight slides to the 246th pick, you do not overthink it, and the Bills did not.

The Smith pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with edge rusher, running back and other spots still on the board. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

If Smith pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
