The Texans got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the D.

The phones were a trap the Texans kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.

They will need Taylor III to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. With tight end unsolved, spending premium capital on safety is the choice that costs them.

Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. On value alone, Newton makes the weekend a net positive.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and tight end is still a hole.
