Best value of the weekend goes to the Lions for Tagovailoa: A-.

The real work happened on the phones. The Lions fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with. The board rewarded a patient, disciplined weekend with a A-.

Getting Tagovailoa where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The linebacker hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

Bottom line, they left the weekend a clearly better team, and they earned every bit of it.
