You can hear the double-takes from here. The Lions took Jalen Thompson at the 153rd pick, roughly 46 spots before his name belonged. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.

The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. The Marshall pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at wide receiver and tight end.

They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. The Moore steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
