The tape said wait; the Panthers did not. Jimmy Horn Jr. went at the 104th overall pick, a good 133 picks before the board was ready.

Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped linebacker, which is a strange place to end up. Landing Burks that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, linebacker very much included.
