The steal of the weekend belongs to the Steelers and Henderson: B+. If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Steelers, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend.
Landing Henderson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Steelers clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Kenneth Grant
In pick No. 25 they get a wrecking ball inside at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick52
Rnd2
Tate Ratledge
Taking Tate Ratledge in pick 52 is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick83
Rnd3
Jayden Higgins
Jayden Higgins in the Round 3 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick87
Rnd3
Jermari Harris
Jermari Harris in the 87th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick89
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
They will replay TreVeyon Henderson at No. 89 for years; that is how good the value is. It fills a real need, too.
Pick121
Rnd4
Kyren Lacy
Kyren Lacy in Round 4, Pick 20 lands just on the right side of the ledger. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick161
Rnd5
Jaeden Roberts
No edge and no loss on Jaeden Roberts in the 161st pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick223
Rnd7
Seth McLaughlin
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Seth McLaughlin in pick No. 223. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick229
Rnd7
Jaishawn Barham
Jaishawn Barham in the 229th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick245
Rnd7
Hunter Wohler
Hunter Wohler at pick 245 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
