Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureC
Grand theft in the 59th pick: the Seahawks steal Loveland and grade out a B.

You could see the war room lean forward. Colston Loveland at Round 2, Pick 27 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. No fireworks, but a solid B.

The Robinson pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick20 Rnd1 Kelvin Banks Jr.
In the Round 1 slot they get a long-term starter on the line at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick28 Rnd1 Grey Zabel
In No. 28 they get a building block for the line. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick31 Rnd1 Tyler Booker
In pick 31 they get a plug-and-play piece up front, though they paid up to get him. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick50 Rnd2 Derrick Harmon
A interior defensive lineman of that caliber at slot 50 is the definition of value, full stop. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick52 Rnd2 Jayden Higgins
By-the-book stuff, Jayden Higgins at Round 2, Pick 20 squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick59 Rnd2 Colston Loveland
They robbed the room for Colston Loveland here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It fills a real need, too.
Pick63 Rnd2 Jared Ivey
Jared Ivey in the 63rd pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick85 Rnd3 Andrew Mukuba
No edge and no loss on Andrew Mukuba in the 85th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick92 Rnd3 Zy Alexander
Zy Alexander in pick No. 92 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick95 Rnd3 Cam Skattebo
Cam Skattebo at slot 95 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick102 Rnd3 Smael Mondon Jr.
A conviction pick on Smael Mondon Jr. at pick 102 that the board grades a round light. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick133 Rnd4 Tyler Shough
Tyler Shough at Round 4, Pick 31 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick136 Rnd4 Xavier Restrepo
They barely believed it either: Xavier Restrepo still on the board at the 136th overall pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick137 Rnd4 Ty Robinson
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Ty Robinson. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick203 Rnd6 Jay Higgins
They took Jay Higgins at par in No. 203, which is nothing to complain about. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick223 Rnd7 Donovan Edwards
Steal is underselling it; Donovan Edwards at the 223rd pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick228 Rnd7 Robert Longerbeam
The board had Robert Longerbeam higher than pick No. 228, and the cornerback fell to them anyway. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
