Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Cowboys were there to profit. Khyree Jackson, the No. 130 name on the board, should have been long gone before slot 174.

They will regret leaving linebacker for another day if the season turns on it. It is not that Jenkins is a bad player; it is that the Cowboys had louder needs to answer first.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
