Draft Grade — Buccaneers
Overall B
ValueA NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Buccaneers robbed the room for Brooks. Final grade: B.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Jonathon Brooks tumbling to the Buccaneers in the Round 4 slot is a gift they did not have to think twice about.

A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want. They are betting Hartman proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick26 Rnd1 Olumuyiwa Fashanu
In pick 26 they get an anchor for the offensive line at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick57 Rnd2 Cooper DeJean
You do not let a cornerback like Cooper DeJean reach slot 57 and blink. They did not. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick89 Rnd3 Chris Braswell
A top-tier edge rusher at a bargain, Chris Braswell in No. 89, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick92 Rnd3 Dadrion Taylor-Demerson
A reasonable price with a little left over, Dadrion Taylor-Demerson in Round 3, Pick 29. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick125 Rnd4 Jonathon Brooks
Jonathon Brooks at pick No. 125 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick220 Rnd6 Kamal Hadden
Circle this one: Kamal Hadden at the 220th pick is a fall that decides a draft. It fills a real need, too.
Pick246 Rnd7 Sam Hartman
They went early on Sam Hartman in the 246th overall pick, and the value did not follow. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
