Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB+ TradesF FutureA+
The Bills let White fall into their laps, and walked away with a B-.

You could see the war room lean forward. Ricky White at pick 208 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick50 Rnd2 Jordan Morgan
No edge and no loss on Jordan Morgan in the 50th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick99 Rnd3 Rod Moore
Taking Rod Moore in No. 99 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick104 Rnd4 Tory Horton
They paid sticker price for Tory Horton in pick No. 104, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick118 Rnd4 Seth McLaughlin
A straight-up fair deal on Seth McLaughlin at the Round 4 slot, value and slot in agreement. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick148 Rnd5 Justin Rogers
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Justin Rogers in pick 148. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick155 Rnd5 Mike Sainristil
A reasonable price with a little left over, Mike Sainristil in the 155th overall pick. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick196 Rnd6 Ali Jennings
Ali Jennings at Round 6, Pick 21 is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick199 Rnd6 Keith Randolph Jr.
Keith Randolph Jr. at slot 199 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick208 Rnd6 Ricky White
Ricky White in slot 208 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick239 Rnd7 Francisco Mauigoa
They read the board right and Francisco Mauigoa was the payoff at the 239th overall pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
