Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesA FutureB
More right than wrong for the Packers, and a B to prove it.

The board owed the Packers one, and it paid up: Ainias Smith, the No. 116 name on the board, sitting there at the 135th pick like a gift left on the doorstep. The bottom line is a respectable B.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. They are betting McLachlan proves the room right and everyone else wrong. Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick29 Rnd1 Kris Jenkins
In the Round 1 slot they get a disruptor off the edge, a steep price for the projection. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick41 Rnd2 T.J. Tampa
They paid sticker price for T.J. Tampa in Round 2, Pick 9, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick57 Rnd2 Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. in pick No. 57 is fair value, right on his grade. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick88 Rnd3 Zak Zinter
Zak Zinter at Round 3, Pick 25 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick91 Rnd3 Matt Goncalves
Matt Goncalves at the 91st overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick125 Rnd4 MarShawn Lloyd
A straight-up fair deal on MarShawn Lloyd at slot 125, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick135 Rnd4 Ainias Smith
Steal is underselling it; Ainias Smith at the Round 4 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick203 Rnd6 Jawhar Jordan
No drama and no debate, Jawhar Jordan went about where he belonged in No. 203. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick217 Rnd6 Marcus Harris
A wild overpay on Marcus Harris in the 217th pick, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick219 Rnd6 Trevor Keegan
They liked Trevor Keegan enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 219. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick246 Rnd7 Tanner McLachlan
A real head-scratcher, Tanner McLachlan in pick 246 is miles ahead of his ranking. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
