Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
The Packers checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Packers spent the 245th overall pick on Jack Westover, a name most had 75 spots down the list. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Getting Sainristil where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Tyler Nubin
In pick No. 25 they get a centerfielder for the defense, even if it was a touch early. Need was not the driver here.
Pick41 Rnd2 Tyler Guyton
Nice patience on Tyler Guyton, who had no business lasting to the 41st pick. It fills a real need, too.
Pick58 Rnd2 T.J. Tampa
T.J. Tampa at the 58th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick88 Rnd3 MarShawn Lloyd
They went early on MarShawn Lloyd in Round 3, Pick 25, and the value did not follow. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick91 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Mike Sainristil in the Round 3 slot. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick126 Rnd4 Tyler Davis
Tyler Davis at No. 126 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick169 Rnd5 Tykee Smith
Tykee Smith is a better player than slot 169 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick202 Rnd6 Jordan Magee
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jordan Magee. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick219 Rnd6 Trevin Wallace
Trevin Wallace at the 219th overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick245 Rnd7 Jack Westover
Jack Westover at Round 7, Pick 25 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick255 Rnd7 Jawhar Jordan
A big swing on Jawhar Jordan at the 255th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
