Gman DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Seahawks a B-. The weekend has a hole in the middle of it named edge rusher, a need the Seahawks walked right past. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
The cost of the Baynes reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
The back end got a real overhaul.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
Chris Johnson
In the 32nd pick they get a lockdown presence outside at fair value.
Pick64
Rnd2
Jake Slaughter
A tidy little value on Jake Slaughter in pick 64, a step better than break-even. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick96
Rnd3
Bryce Lance
Bryce Lance in slot 96 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick188
Rnd6
Kobe Baynes
They paid a round early for Kobe Baynes in the Round 6 slot, more than the board wanted. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
