If confidence were a draft strategy, the Bears would have aced it. Trajan Jeffcoat at the 185th overall pick is 118 spots clear of where he belonged. About as rough as the board gets, and a F to prove it.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. Whatever Caleb Williams becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer.

They will answer for taking tight end early while cornerback went begging. They will regret leaving cornerback for another day if the season turns on it.

That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.
