Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The 49ers let Ayomanor fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

The board owed the 49ers one, and it paid up: Elic Ayomanor, the No. 69 name on the board, sitting there at Round 4, Pick 11 like a gift left on the doorstep. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. They are betting Fortune proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the running back spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Armand Membou
In the Round 1 slot they get a cornerstone up front. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick43 Rnd2 Tyleik Williams
A tidy little value on Tyleik Williams in slot 43, a step better than break-even. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick75 Rnd3 Carson Schwesinger
Carson Schwesinger at the 75th pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick100 Rnd3 Kevin Winston Jr.
They paid sticker price for Kevin Winston Jr. in No. 100, and that is fine. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick113 Rnd4 Elic Ayomanor
A wide receiver of that caliber at pick No. 113 is the definition of value, full stop. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick138 Rnd4 Joshua Farmer
The board fumbled Joshua Farmer all the way to Round 4, Pick 36, and they scooped it up. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick147 Rnd5 O'Donnell Fortune
They went early on O'Donnell Fortune in the 147th overall pick, and the value did not follow. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick160 Rnd5 Hollin Pierce
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Hollin Pierce in pick 160, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick227 Rnd7 Craig Woodson
They did well to land Craig Woodson in pick 227, just ahead of his grade. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick249 Rnd7 Caleb Rogers
Caleb Rogers in No. 249 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick252 Rnd7 Zeek Biggers
Zeek Biggers at the Round 7 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
