austinrwilliams2005 DRAFTING FOR THEGiants
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Giants
Overall
B-
ValueB
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Giants: B-. The Giants spent real capital to be 31 picks early on Riley Leonard, and the board is going to hold them to it. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
That Paul Jr. pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. They left with wide receiver solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Travis Hunter
In the 3rd overall pick they get a press-man option on the boundary. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick34
Rnd2
Landon Jackson
Landon Jackson in pick 34 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick65
Rnd3
Tre Harris
A reasonable price with a little left over, Tre Harris in the 65th pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick99
Rnd3
Riley Leonard
They reached a country mile for Riley Leonard at No. 99, and the board is aghast. The roster fit checks out.
Pick105
Rnd4
Chris Paul Jr.
Circle this one: Chris Paul Jr. at Round 4, Pick 3 is a fall that decides a draft. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
