Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB- TradesB- FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Ravens: B-.

The Ravens treated their own grade as gospel and everyone else's as noise, spending pick 218 on Shaun Dolac a full 122 spots early. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

Starks falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up.

Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick27 Rnd1 Mykel Williams
In pick 27 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick59 Rnd2 Malaki Starks
Malaki Starks in the Round 2 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick91 Rnd3 Cameron Williams
Somehow Cameron Williams was still sitting there in the 91st overall pick, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick129 Rnd4 Oluwafemi Oladejo
Oluwafemi Oladejo in No. 129 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick149 Rnd5 Andres Borregales
Andres Borregales in the 149th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick176 Rnd5 Quincy Riley
Quincy Riley at pick No. 176 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick183 Rnd6 Ollie Gordon II
They read the board right and Ollie Gordon II was the payoff at pick 183. It fills a real need, too.
Pick203 Rnd6 Desmond Watson
Desmond Watson in the 203rd overall pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick204 Rnd6 Torricelli Simpkins III
A wild overpay on Torricelli Simpkins III in slot 204, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick212 Rnd6 Hayden Conner
Hayden Conner at pick No. 212 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick218 Rnd7 Shaun Dolac
Shaun Dolac at the 218th pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick242 Rnd7 Carson Vinson
Carson Vinson is a better player than Round 7, Pick 26 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick243 Rnd7 Isas Waxter
Isas Waxter in No. 243 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
