The 49ers bet big and early on Hayden Conner, 39 picks ahead of the board. Bold does not always mean right. There is no dressing it up: a F.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. The Moore pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback still on the board.

They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. On value alone, Moore makes the weekend a net positive.

They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

In short, a weekend the front office will want to forget in a hurry.
