Draft Grade — Packers
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Packers robbed the room for King. Final grade: B-.

Call it larceny. Kalen King sat on the board until pick No. 219, and the Packers did not need to be asked twice.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. The cost of the Milton III reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Kool-Aid McKinstry
In the 25th overall pick they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick41 Rnd2 Tyler Guyton
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Tyler Guyton at the 41st pick is the proof. It fills a real need, too.
Pick58 Rnd2 Jaylen Wright
Jaylen Wright in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick88 Rnd3 Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. slid further than he should have, and slot 88 is lovely value for the linebacker. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick91 Rnd3 Dominick Puni
Dominick Puni in pick 91 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick126 Rnd4 Jarrian Jones
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jarrian Jones in No. 126. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick169 Rnd5 Luke McCaffrey
Luke McCaffrey in Round 5, Pick 33 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick202 Rnd6 Joe Milton III
The board had cheaper options than Joe Milton III at pick No. 202, and it noticed. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick219 Rnd6 Kalen King
Kalen King at No. 219 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick245 Rnd7 Trente Jones
No drama and no debate, Trente Jones went about where he belonged in the 245th pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick255 Rnd7 Michael Barrett
Michael Barrett at the Round 7 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the linebacker. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
