Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the 49ers.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Domani Jackson at the 133rd pick is 35 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline. More right than wrong, and a B- to match.

With running back, quarterback and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on cornerback is the choice that costs them. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up.

Getting Igbinosun where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Pick Analysis
Pick29 Rnd1 Sonny Styles
In the Round 1 slot they get a green-dot type in the middle. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick58 Rnd2 Omar Cooper Jr.
They did well to land Omar Cooper Jr. in No. 58, just ahead of his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick127 Rnd4 Parker Brailsford
A clean, defensible pick in the 127th overall pick with a little surplus value in Parker Brailsford. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick133 Rnd4 Domani Jackson
They reached into another round for Domani Jackson, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick138 Rnd4 Isaiah World
Isaiah World in pick 138 is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick139 Rnd4 Davison Igbinosun
They bypassed pressing needs at running back, quarterback and other spots to take Davison Igbinosun, a cornerback that was not the priority.
Pick148 Rnd5 Tim Keenan III
Fair-plus on Tim Keenan III, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick176 Rnd5 Justin Jefferson
Justin Jefferson at the Round 5 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
