Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Justin Scott got past him. The 49ers do not have to explain a thing at Round 2, Pick 26. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Pierre has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

The Marvin Mims Jr. deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
