Draft Grade — Eagles

FutureA-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Eagles: B-. The Eagles looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Carter Bradley at the 240th overall pick regardless, 111 picks early. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
However the rest shakes out, Neyor at that price is a win they earned. They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Kool-Aid McKinstry
In pick No. 22 they get a press-man option on the boundary. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick54
Rnd2
Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
By-the-book stuff, Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at the Round 2 slot squarely in line with his ranking. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick99
Rnd3
Tykee Smith
Nothing to complain about; Tykee Smith went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick120
Rnd4
Malik Washington
A straight-up fair deal on Malik Washington at Round 4, Pick 20, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick160
Rnd5
Layden Robinson
They paid a round early for Layden Robinson in pick 160, more than the board wanted. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick170
Rnd5
Grayson Murphy
Grayson Murphy at No. 170 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick171
Rnd5
Chau Smith-Wade
Chau Smith-Wade in the 171st overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick178
Rnd6
Frank Gore Jr.
They paid sticker price for Frank Gore Jr. in slot 178, and that is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick187
Rnd6
Curtis Jacobs
They took Curtis Jacobs at par in pick 187, which is nothing to complain about. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick237
Rnd7
Jeremy Flax
They liked Jeremy Flax enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 7, Pick 17. The roster fit checks out.
Pick238
Rnd7
Tanner McLachlan
This one needs a full-page explanation: Tanner McLachlan in No. 238, miles early. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick240
Rnd7
Carter Bradley
They left a pile of value on the table to take Carter Bradley this early at pick No. 240. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick246
Rnd7
Isaiah Neyor
A slide stopped in the 246th pick, with Isaiah Neyor worth more than the price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
