If confidence were a draft strategy, the Patriots would have aced it. Zion Nelson at pick 229 is 42 spots clear of where he belonged. The math is unkind, and the D+ follows.

So much rides on Jayden Daniels that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and edge rusher is still a hole.
