Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall C+
ValueB NeedB- TradesF FutureA+
The Broncos got the worse of every deal, and it shows in the C+.

The Tyler Baron pick is the one that will follow the Broncos into the fall. They took him 36 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C+ in the wash.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. The linebacker spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Davis falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game.

Hit on Tacario Davis and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.

Pick Analysis
Pick35 Rnd2 Tacario Davis
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Tacario Davis at No. 35 is the proof. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick39 Rnd2 Kevin Winston Jr.
Kevin Winston Jr. at pick 39 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick61 Rnd2 Luke Lachey
Luke Lachey in pick No. 61 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick67 Rnd3 Ajani Cornelius
By-the-book stuff, Ajani Cornelius at Round 3, Pick 3 squarely in line with his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
Pick88 Rnd3 Tyler Baron
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Tyler Baron. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick99 Rnd4 Trevor Etienne
Nothing to complain about; Trevor Etienne went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick163 Rnd6 Jasheen Davis
They took Jasheen Davis at par in the 163rd pick, which is nothing to complain about. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
