Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall D-
ValueC- NeedA- TradesF FutureC+
The phones sank the Seahawks this weekend: D-.

The Seahawks clearly saw something nobody else did in Brady Cook, taking him 90 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.

On value alone, Skattebo makes the weekend a net positive. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. The linebacker hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, linebacker very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 JT Tuimoloau
In No. 18 they get a double-digit-sack hope, though the board says they badly overpaid. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick27 Rnd1 Tyler Booker
In pick No. 27 they get a cornerstone up front, though they paid up to get him. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick50 Rnd2 Aireontae Ersery
A clean, defensible pick in the 50th overall pick with a little surplus value in Aireontae Ersery. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick82 Rnd3 Jake Majors
Jake Majors in pick 82 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick137 Rnd4 Nazir Stackhouse
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Nazir Stackhouse. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick173 Rnd5 Cam Skattebo
Taking Cam Skattebo in the Round 5 slot is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. The roster fit checks out.
Pick187 Rnd6 Brady Cook
Brady Cook at the 187th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick212 Rnd6 Theo Wease Jr.
Theo Wease Jr. at slot 212 is a conviction pick that outran the value. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick236 Rnd7 Luke Lachey
They will replay Luke Lachey at pick No. 236 for years; that is how good the value is. A need, and now a little less of one.
