The 49ers checked most of the boxes and earned a B.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The 49ers did exactly that with Ethan Downs in Round 6, Pick 11. The bottom line is a respectable B.

On value alone, Higgins makes the weekend a net positive. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
