The Chiefs checked most of the boxes and earned a B. When the story of this class is written, it opens with Hayden Hatten at pick No. 251, a reach of 92 spots that the board flatly disagrees with. No fireworks, but a solid B.
That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The Smith pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots still on the board.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
