A solid, sensible weekend for the Falcons: B-.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Falcons did exactly that with Spencer Rattler in No. 79. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Hicks. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.

Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

In the 8th pick they get a quarterback's worst nightmare. A real need, handled.

Nothing to complain about; Xavier Legette went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.

Jaden Hicks at pick No. 109 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
