Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesA+ FutureB-
The Seahawks won the night they stopped Washington from sliding. Grade: B+.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Tahj Washington got past him. The Seahawks do not have to explain a thing at Round 7, Pick 13. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.

Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.

Pick Analysis
Pick22 Rnd1 Troy Fautanu
In the Round 1 slot they get a cornerstone up front. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick50 Rnd2 Christian Haynes
Christian Haynes at pick No. 50 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick78 Rnd3 Bralen Trice
They robbed the room for Bralen Trice here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick81 Rnd3 Calen Bullock
They did well to land Calen Bullock in pick 81, just ahead of his grade. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick119 Rnd4 McKinnley Jackson
McKinnley Jackson in the 119th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick151 Rnd5 Marist Liufau
A tidy little value on Marist Liufau in Round 5, Pick 15, a step better than break-even. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick189 Rnd6 Drake Nugent
A premium they did not need to pay, Drake Nugent a notch or two before his time. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick194 Rnd6 Jared Wiley
Jared Wiley at the 194th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick233 Rnd7 Tahj Washington
Tahj Washington at No. 233 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
