The 49ers did not so much draft Trey Moore as overpay for him, 46 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. Little went right, and the F does not pretend otherwise.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. The Wheatley steal is the beam this whole class leans on. It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

In the end, a class that has to defy its grades just to matter.
