You can hear the double-takes from here. The Panthers took Marcellas Dial at Round 7, Pick 20, roughly 45 spots before his name belonged. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

That is a running back worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.

On the needs board they went 6 of 9, with wide receiver the one that mattered most. The back end got a real overhaul.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
