The 49ers spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Kaleb Johnson, the No. 39 name on the board, in the Round 4 slot. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They are betting Burch proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The Antonio Hamilton Sr. pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
