Fluff DRAFTING FOR THEVikings

Draft Grade — Vikings

FutureA+
The Vikings bled value on every deal, hence the B-. The phones were a trap the Vikings kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal.
The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. However the rest shakes out, Trapilo at that price is a win they earned.
The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with safety the one that mattered most.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick92
Rnd3
Ozzy Trapilo
They read the board right and Ozzy Trapilo was the payoff at Round 3, Pick 28. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick97
Rnd3
Sebastian Castro
Sebastian Castro is a better player than slot 97 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick139
Rnd5
Trevor Etienne
Trevor Etienne in the 139th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.
Pick187
Rnd6
Vernon Broughton
Vernon Broughton in the 187th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
