The Giants spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Anthony Belton, the No. 115 name on the board, in the Round 5 slot. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

The cost of the Howard reach is exactly the players who went right after him. For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The Martin Emerson Jr. deal gives the class an established piece to lean on. Interior defensive lineman was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.
