Draft Grade — Browns
Overall C+
ValueC NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Browns land in the muddy middle: C+.

If confidence were a draft strategy, the Browns would have aced it. Jamaree Caldwell at pick 204 is 81 spots clear of where he belonged. Fine in stretches, shaky in others: a C+.

The Barton value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.

Pick Analysis
Pick8 Rnd1 Will Campbell
In No. 8 they get an anchor for the offensive line, even if it was a touch early.
Pick40 Rnd2 Quinn Ewers
They reached into another round for Quinn Ewers, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick72 Rnd3 TreVeyon Henderson
TreVeyon Henderson at the Round 3 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The roster fit checks out.
Pick94 Rnd3 Darrell Jackson Jr.
Darrell Jackson Jr. in pick 94 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick109 Rnd4 Cobee Bryant
Value said wait; Cobee Bryant in Round 4, Pick 8 says they were not listening. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick168 Rnd5 J.Michael Sturdivant
A swing that ignored the value entirely, J.Michael Sturdivant well ahead of where he belonged. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick184 Rnd6 Lander Barton
They will replay Lander Barton at Round 6, Pick 9 for years; that is how good the value is. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick189 Rnd6 Elijah Roberts
Circle this one: Elijah Roberts at the 189th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick204 Rnd6 Jamaree Caldwell
Jamaree Caldwell at pick 204 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick213 Rnd6 Jonah Monheim
A quiet steal in No. 213: Jonah Monheim for less than the market said. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick215 Rnd7 Logan Parr
They paid sticker price for Logan Parr in slot 215, and that is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
