The Cardinals did not so much draft Sam Hartman as overpay for him, 61 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend.

Getting Green where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
