Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall D-
ValueC- NeedB TradesF FutureA
The 49ers answered their biggest question with Allar. Grade: D-.

It is the swing that defines the weekend: Raheem Anderson in the 174th pick, a good 112 spots before the room expected him. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D-.

They have staked the next five years on Drew Allar, which is the only story that really matters here. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close.

The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. That Moore pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.

Pick Analysis
Pick28 Rnd1 Drew Allar
In the 28th overall pick they get the arm they will build around, and a steal at that. A real need, handled.
Pick60 Rnd2 Logan Jones
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Logan Jones. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick72 Rnd3 Monroe Freeling
Monroe Freeling at pick 72 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick108 Rnd4 Domani Jackson
They did well to land Domani Jackson in pick No. 108, just ahead of his grade. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick128 Rnd4 Kage Casey
They jumped the gun on Kage Casey, taking him earlier than his grade liked. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick134 Rnd4 Connor Tollison
A big swing on Connor Tollison at slot 134, well ahead of any board in the building. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick137 Rnd4 DJ Campbell
DJ Campbell at the 137th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick147 Rnd5 Bryce Foster
A real head-scratcher, Bryce Foster in the Round 5 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick167 Rnd5 Pat Coogan
Pat Coogan at No. 167 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick174 Rnd5 Raheem Anderson
They left a pile of value on the table to take Raheem Anderson this early at the 174th overall pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick186 Rnd6 J.Michael Sturdivant
They reached a country mile for J.Michael Sturdivant at pick 186, and the board is aghast. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick206 Rnd6 Jayden Limar
This one needs a full-page explanation: Jayden Limar in Round 6, Pick 30, miles early. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick221 Rnd7 Austin Siereveld
Austin Siereveld at pick No. 221 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick241 Rnd7 Dante Moore
Dante Moore at slot 241 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The roster fit checks out.
Pick247 Rnd7 Jalen Catalon
Jalen Catalon at the 247th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick249 Rnd7 James Brockermeyer
A swing that ignored the value entirely, James Brockermeyer well ahead of where he belonged. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
