The 49ers did not so much draft Thor Griffith as overpay for him, 88 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. The board rewarded a patient, disciplined weekend with a A-.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Helm. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
