Draft Grade — Packers
Overall

FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Packers, and a B- to prove it. Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Christian Mahogany got past him. The Packers do not have to explain a thing at slot 108.
Eguakun has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. The Packers indulged a want in Eichenberg while a need in edge rusher and tight end stayed open.
On the needs board they went 6 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Amarius Mims
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get an anchor for the offensive line. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick41
Rnd2
Kamren Kinchens
Kamren Kinchens slid further than he should have, and the 41st pick is lovely value for the safety. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick57
Rnd2
Jermaine Burton
They did well to land Jermaine Burton in the Round 2 slot, just ahead of his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick88
Rnd3
Junior Colson
Nice patience on Junior Colson, who had no business lasting to pick No. 88. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick108
Rnd4
Christian Mahogany
They will replay Christian Mahogany at slot 108 for years; that is how good the value is. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick125
Rnd4
Leonard Taylor III
A clean, defensible pick in pick 125 with a little surplus value in Leonard Taylor III. It fills a real need, too.
Pick130
Rnd4
Max Melton
A tidy bit of business in No. 130, where Max Melton graded well above the range. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick135
Rnd4
Tommy Eichenberg
A want over a need in the 135th overall pick: Tommy Eichenberg adds a linebacker while edge rusher and tight end keeps waiting.
Pick148
Rnd5
Cam Hart
Cam Hart at the 148th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick203
Rnd6
Miles Frazier
A conviction pick on Miles Frazier at Round 6, Pick 28 that the board grades a round light. The roster fit checks out.
Pick217
Rnd6
Kingsley Eguakun
They reached into another round for Kingsley Eguakun, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick219
Rnd6
Sam Hartman
Sam Hartman in Round 6, Pick 44 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick246
Rnd7
Jase McClellan
The board had Jase McClellan higher than No. 246, and the running back fell to them anyway. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
