The Bears torched the value chart for Jackson Powers-Johnson, taking him 31 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. About as rough as the board gets, and a F to prove it.

Whatever Caleb Williams becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. They will answer for taking tight end early while interior defensive lineman and linebacker went begging.

They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Jones. It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.

There is no soft landing here: they fought the board and left interior defensive lineman open, and the grade is the bill.
