The Packers did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Dwight McGlothern fell into slot 245.

Reaching for Milton left real value on the table behind him. They will answer for taking linebacker early while edge rusher and interior defensive lineman went begging. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.

They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
