Draft Grade — Packers
Overall C
ValueC+ NeedB TradesD- FutureB-
The phones sank the Packers this weekend: C.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Packers watched Fentrell Cypress II slide 32 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.

Benson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

They went 5 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Hit on Kamren Kinchens and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Kamren Kinchens
In the 25th pick they get a ballhawk on the back end. More want than need.
Pick41 Rnd2 Trey Benson
Trey Benson at the 41st overall pick is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick57 Rnd2 T'Vondre Sweat
T'Vondre Sweat in Round 2, Pick 25 is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick88 Rnd3 Cooper Beebe
Fair-plus on Cooper Beebe, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick92 Rnd3 Mike Sainristil
Mike Sainristil at the 92nd overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick111 Rnd4 Darius Robinson
The board had cheaper options than Darius Robinson at the Round 4 slot, and it noticed. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick125 Rnd4 Cedric Gray
Cedric Gray in slot 125 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick135 Rnd4 Javon Foster
Javon Foster in the 135th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
Pick203 Rnd6 Shemar Turner
They reached a country mile for Shemar Turner at No. 203, and the board is aghast. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick217 Rnd6 Jawhar Jordan
They jumped the gun on Jawhar Jordan, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick219 Rnd6 Omar Speights
Omar Speights at the 219th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick246 Rnd7 Fentrell Cypress II
You do not let a cornerback like Fentrell Cypress II reach pick No. 246 and blink. They did not. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
