Draft Grade — Bears
Overall C+
ValueB- NeedB- TradesA+ FutureF
The Bears finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a C+.

The Bears spent the pick that matters most on Caleb Williams, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. Fine in stretches, shaky in others: a C+.

They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. Reaching for Eichenberg left real value on the table behind him.

If one pick saves this weekend, it is Rice.

It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In the Round 1 slot they get a franchise quarterback at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick9 Rnd1 Rome Odunze
In No. 9 they get a matchup problem out wide. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick51 Rnd2 Christian Haynes
Christian Haynes in slot 51 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick75 Rnd3 Patrick Paul
Nice patience on Patrick Paul, who had no business lasting to pick 75. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick109 Rnd4 Brenden Rice
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Brenden Rice in the 109th pick. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick118 Rnd4 Ben Sinnott
Ben Sinnott at the 118th overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick121 Rnd4 Tommy Eichenberg
Tommy Eichenberg at pick No. 121 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
